Meet Morgan

Welcome! I appreciate you being here.

I am Morgan - a mother, a wife, a sister, a yoga teacher, a mentor, a kid at heart, a fitness enthusiast, the list goes on.

It has been a wild ride to get here - I grew up in Central Iowa. I met my husband my senior year of high school and have been best friends ever since. After about a year of being in college, clueless to what I wanted to do, I dropped out. My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I packed up our cars, sold whatever else didn't fit, and moved to Colorado when I was 20.

We spent two years frolicking in the mountains, working at marijuana dispensaries and grows, writing a blog, and had no set plans in life besides having fun and getting to know ourselves.

I eventually was proposed to on top of a mountain - we moved back to Iowa (randomly choosing Cedar Rapids), got married, bought a house, and I found myself in my first official corporate job (what a change of events!).

In 2018, I went to Costa Rica for a couple weeks to obtain my 200hr yoga teacher certification. It was a quick, spur of the moment decision. Where I knew I was following my gut but wasn't sure what it meant. I came back to the States, got scared shitless of what being a yoga teacher actually meant - having to actually TEACH! In front of a bunch of people! Staring at me. Looking to me as a leader and teacher.

I eventually scared myself out of teaching, and continued my corporate job life.

Life was pretty good, I enjoyed my job, our simple life. I had my first daughter in 2020, and that was really the catalyst to my healing and spiritual journey. She gave me a purpose, something higher than myself. She gave me motivation to be my absolute best self. What am I doing with my life? How am I holding myself back? What are my passions? Who am I really? What do I want out of this life?

I changed my drinking habits, my eating, my exercising. I really started taking my mental health seriously.

In 2023, I obtained my trauma-informed yoga certification. This allowed me to dip my toes back into the yoga dream slowly and intentionally. I started my business, Healing Through Yoga, which made me quickly face my deepest fears - fears of being seen, of being judged, of being cringy, of being a teacher, of speaking in front of others, the list goes on.

I started teaching yoga at a mental health therapy office, then transitioned to yoga studios in the Cedar Rapids area. I quit my corporate job March 2024 to become a full time yoga teacher / mentor and have not looked back.

Being an entrepreneur has allowed me to thrive - I am a multi-faceted person. I have literally a million passions - reading, being in nature, weightlifting, yoga, running, walking, writing, learning anything health/fitness related, anything astrology/human design/spiritual-related.

When I am not teaching yoga, I enjoy being with my family doing simple things - being outside, going to libraries, and planning yearly hiking trips with my husband. We definitely prefer woods and mountains over beach.

I am forever evolving and changing. But I will always follow my gut, and show up as my most authentic and vulnerable self. I love human connection - real, uncensored, vulnerable connection.

I am so happy you are here. Thank you for listening to my story and please reach out if you have any questions, or would like just to connect.
